Lavender hydrosol has soothing, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. It is the water byproduct of the steam distillation process used to extract essential oils from plants. It's diluted nature makes it safer and easier to use then essential oils, while still smelling lovely. 

An interesting note about aroma: Lavender hydrosol doesn't smell quiet like lavender! The base notes of the plant emerge in the steam distillation process. Time of year and type of plant also impacts the scent. We think this batch of hydrosol has notes of fresh garden peonies and roses.
