Planning Your Visit to Tullamore Lavender Co.
You're planning your visit to our farm – yay! I think you’re going to love it.
Visiting a farm is not likely something you’ve done a lot before. What do people even do at a lavender farm? I get it. I love doing research before visiting a place or trying a new experience. So, I’ve compiled answers to our most common questions to help you get excited for your visit.
Our 2025 Season will run from June 18 - July 27. We are open Wednesday through Sunday from 10AM - 4PM. Advance tickets go on sale June 1.
What is there to do at Tullamore?
It might sound wild, but we hope you don’t do anything! We believe the best part of our on-farm experience is just experiencing the simplicity of what's around you. Smell and touch the lavender, stroll the field, sit on a chair + enjoy the summer sun. Put your feet in the grass + talk with a friend. Listen for birds singing or bees buzzing. There is so much to be said about doing nothing + letting your senses take over.
We have two main fields of lavender: the main plot + stone plot to explore. We have seating throughout the fields, as well as a patio space with a concession stand where you can purchase lavender snacks + drinks. We have an on-farm shop where you can explore the products we make with our lavender + you can always request a short tour. I'm typically around and love touring visitors.
How big is the Tullamore lavender farm?
Our main plot, stone plot, lavender shed + patio take up about an acre of space on our 80-acre farm. You’ll be able to walk through plots that contain about 2,500 lavender plants. It’s small – but still A LOT of lavender to enjoy. We keep ticketing windows fairly small so that everyone has space to enjoy without feeling crowded.
When is the best time to visit the farm?
Our 2025 season will run from June 18 - July 27. We have many different types of lavender on the farm + all bloom at slightly different times. This means there is always something in bloom during our open season. Our English lavender is the first to bloom (mid-June to early July). By mid-July our French lavender takes over as the show stopper.
Can I pick my own lavender?
At this time, we don’t offer pick-your-own lavender. If you’re really keen to take home a fresh lavender bouquet, let the staff know + we will harvest some for you.
Can I bring my dog?
Unfortunately, dogs / pets are not allowed on the farm as we grow culinary products. Service animals are welcome.
Are there washrooms?
Yes, we have portable washrooms onsite, including a wheelchair accessible unit. Don’t worry – we keep them neat and tidy ;)
Why is there an admission fee?
Our $10 admission fee covers the costs of having the public on the farm, like insurance, staffing + washrooms. We do our best to keep the cost as low as possible to make the experience accessible, while also ensuring everyone is safe and that our staff are paid appropriately.
Can I take photos?
Yes, for sure! We just ask that you are respectful of other visitors + be careful not to take photos with strangers in them :) If you are interested in flying a drone over the field, we typically do not allow this when other visitors are on the farm. Please talk to the staff.
Can I bring food?
Yes, you’re welcome to bring your own snacks + drinks. Be sure to pick up any garbage you bring with you + please avoid brining any allergens like peanuts. Portable burners or BBQs are not allowed on the farm.
How long am I allowed to stay?
Ticket windows are for one hour, but visitors are welcome to stay as long as they like during our open hours.
What should I wear?
We always recommend sunscreen + hats, as the lavender fields are in full sun. The ground is often uneven and bumpy, so we also recommend avoiding shoes like flip flops or heels. If you're keen on taking the best photos, the following colouring look really fabulous in the fields: yellows, rusty oranges, whites + creams, and purple, of course. Lime greens and bright blues also look great in contrast with the fields.
