Aurora Picnic Blanket
Aurora Picnic Blanket
This gorgeous blanket by MINI TIPI is a farm favourite for picnics + getting cozy around the campfire. If you've been to the farm, you'll recognize it as our go-to blankets for sitting between the rows of lavender.
It’s the perfect size for a queen bed or throw blanket. We love that it combines beauty with eco-friendly fabrics. And, it’s made in Canada! Farm visitors LOVED this blanket so much, we decided to bring it into the shop.
About the Design
The Aurora blanket is designed by MINI TIPI Co-Founder and Creative Director, Trisha Pitura, a member of Nipissing First Nation. Trisha’s Indigenous heritage, personal experiences and love for textile are reflected in her designs.
"The Aurora Borealis or the Northern Lights, are unique to Canada in the Northern Hemisphere. First Nations people have teachings and practices that symbolize the Northern Lights and can vary from Nation. One teaching being that the Northern Lights are spirits of the ancestors celebrating life, reminding us that we are all part of creation. Their dancing forms a pathway for the souls as they travel to the next world. Elements and energy, science and spirituality; they all fill the sky."
