
2025 Summer Job: Farm Production Assistant
Tullamore Lavender Co is a small-scale lavender farm just outside of Arthur, Ontario. The farm is home to 4,500 lavender plants and open to the public in June and July. We’re looking to hire an enthusiastic and reliable individuals to enhance the experience of our farm visitors, and support the plant production side of our business.
There are two position types available (Farm Retail Assistant + Farm Production Assistant). Both are part-time summer jobs and perfect for students looking to work for a portion of their summer break.

Farm Production Assistant
Working with the owner and a small team, this role is responsible for plant care, property maintenance and lavender harvest and processing, as well as maintaining a safe and respectful environment. As we are an agritourism farm that welcomes visitors, tasks may also include customer service including answering customer questions and retail sales.
Job Responsibilities
- Property maintenance, including manual weeding, cutting grass, painting
- Plant maintenance, including trimming and manual harvest
- Lavender processing, including bundling, hanging for drying and packaging
- Record keeping
- Ensure all spaces are tidy and clean
- Keep up-to-date with farm and product information
- Follow all company policies and procedures (including health and safety + food safety)
- Other duties as assigned, including various farm tasks and customer service
Qualifications and Requirements
- Excellent listening skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable working independently for long periods of time
- Comfortable operating a lawn mower and manual harvesting equipment (with training)
- Able to work 8+ hours on your feet in all weather conditions, performing demanding and repetitive farm tasks (bending, squatting, lifting, kneeling, standing on a daily basis)
- Ability to lift 40 lbs
- Must have transportation to and from the farm
The Environment
This position works mainly outdoors, or within non-temperature-controlled spaces, on your feet. You must be comfortable working outside in both sunshine/heat as well as cool/rainy conditions as there is little shelter from the elements in the field.
Each day will be a bit different, as the team is very small and the farm is family-run. The work culture is hardworking and friendly where all members of the team work to build a positive, supportive, and inclusive culture.
Job Term
- Temporary position for eight (8) weeks
- June - July
- 12 - 26 hours per week
- Wednesday – Sunday schedule (ability to work weekends is a must)
Compensation
- $18-$22 / hour depending on experience
Paid training (Food Handler Certification)
